Stamford on Kent and 187 Kent, Kent Street, Sydney
Located at the Northern end of Kent Street in the Sydney CBD, Stamford on Kent was a re-adaptive conversion of the former Caltex House office building which had 10 levels added to the original office building constructed in 1965.
Stamford Plaza Sydney, one of Sydney's premier CBD all-suite hotels occupied levels 1 to 9 of 183 - 187 Kent Street while the upper levels are occupied by the luxury residential apartments of Stamford on Kent located on Levels 10 to 27. Stamford on Kent's selection of 157 elegant residential apartments offered one, two and three bedroom floor plan options with a limited selection of two storey penthouses.
Residents enjoy far greater internal and terrace/balcony space than many comparable developments while space planning endow the interiors with an unusual degree of sunlight and breathtaking views, be they of Sydney Harbour, the Harbour Bridge or the Sydney CBD.
Stamford on Kent was completed in 2000 and sold out by 2002.
187 Kent was located on the lower levels of Stamford on Kent from Level 1 to Level 9. Formerly Stamford Plaza Sydney, an all suite hotel completed in 2000, it was converted to residential apartments.
Originally comprising 143 hotel suites, Stamford Plaza Sydney was converted to 187 Kent which holds 127 residential apartments. Many of the characteristics of Stamford on Kent were replicated in 187 Kent although the apartment sizes are smaller.
The conversion project was completed in 2002.
